Whilst we are unable to Race or Practice at Level 3, there is provision for "Non-Contact Sport" across New Zealand to open up under the current Level 2 schedule. This will require sports to have some controls in place for things like numbers attending events, contact tracing and physical distancing at events, including practice sessions. Our Government will announce in two weeks time if we continue on Level 3 or move to Level 2 KartSport NZ is currently working with Sport New Zealand seeking more specific details on the Level 2 schedule from the Ministry of Health, specifically the definition of "contact sport". As soon as this is received we will advise Clubs and the Kart Trade. Approval for our sport is required from the Ministry of Health for Level 2 activity. Kartsport NZ has been preparing a "Karting- COVID19 Protocol document". This will provide a set of key resources and procedures for both race days and practice sessions, in anticipation that we can start back on the track at Level 2.
