Kart CRG: The Mini and the OK Categories are back on the track for the WSK Open
The Lonato track will host the 1st Round of the WSK Open Series from 15th to 19th September. This event consisting in two appointments will see its final test on 3rd October at the Adria circuit. For the CRG Factory Team it will be an opportunity to get back behind the wheel with the direct drive Mini and OK classes, after the long summer break, in which the action on the track was reserved for the KZ categories (to rest during this event as decided by CRG).
Spotlight especially on the Mini category then, in which the Brazilian driver Augustus Toniolo will make his debut with the CRG colors, alongside the Italian Mattia Prescianotto, the Canadian Ilie Tristan Crisan, the Dutch Ayour Achgare and the South Africans Luviwe Sambudla and Enzo Rujugiro. CRG's Mini team has many ambitions and the main goal will be to fight for the podium. Again for what concerns the Mini category, it will be important to keep an eye on Aleksandar Bogunovic and Oskar Poberaj both followed by the external teams.
In the OK Junior class the CRG team will line up the Russian Gerasim Skulanov and Simone Bianco, while in OK there will be Ksenia Phoenix and Justas Kasperlunas.
The weekend program will be the same as the other WSK events, with 2 days of free practice (Wednesday and Thursday) and the race program that will be organized from Friday to Sunday. On the WSK website it will be possible to follow the action on the track from Friday on, thanks to the live timing, while the pre-finals and Finals on Sunday will be broadcast in live streaming.
Drivers’ expectations:
Augustus Toniolo (Mini): “I am proud to be able to race the next races with an important team like CRG here in Europe. My main goal is to learn and thanks to the know-how of the team and the very high level of these WSK events, I am sure that I will be able to have an important experience. I can't wait to start this long race weekend and to compete with the strongest drivers in this category".
Gerasim Skulanov (OKJ): “After my first experiences in OK Junior between June and July, the feeling with this category and with the team is now much more solid and I am confident I will be competitive this weekend. We did a good job during the testing sessions last week and I hope the weather will not affect the race too much. This weekend begins an intense program that will cover the entire second part of the season and I can't wait to get back on the track”.
