Kart CRG: 2025 Racing Chassis Range

With the new FIA Karting homologation session, CRG has confirmed with a three-year renewal (2025-2027) its entire line of Racing chassis produced for international races and the major single-brand trophies: the KT2, KT4, KT5 and Road Rebel chassis. On the one hand, as far as the geometries and bodies are concerned, only some optimizations have been made, bringing the technical experience gained by the CRG Racing Team in the most important international events onto the series production, some significant innovations have been introduced for what concerns the fairings and some accessories such as the braking systems. For the MINI categories, the homologation of the Hero model has not been renewed and therefore only the Black Mirror chassis (approved as T-Group) will be available for all championships and trophies where international chassis approval is required.

Please find below a short note that illustrates the main innovations and technical characteristics of the CRG Racing chassis with FIA homologation for 2025.

What’s new

Starting from 2025, all CRG chassis in the Racing range will adopt the new fairings called 507/509 which replace the previous 507/508. The new fairings have a design that aims to further optimize the aerodynamics and cooling of some technical components, while at the same time giving the Kart an even more attractive look. The number holder is characterized by various slits to discharge the air flows in the most functional way from an aerodynamic point of view and all the studies conducted have also highlighted benefits regarding the effectiveness of the chassis in the front part. Also new is the front spoiler which is integrated with the number holder and has as its main feature two air intakes at the ends which, in addition to improving the airflow, in the categories with front brakes also contribute significantly to the correct cooling. The new fairings are combined with a sticker kit with renewed graphics, but which maintains the classic CRG livery with the black and fluorescent red colors.

Upon request, the 2025 chassis can also be fitted with the previous 507/508 fairings which retain their approval. As regards accessories, the homologation has been confirmed for the VEN 11 braking system (new acronym from 1 January 2025 – VEN 11b) with the possibility of adopting two different brake discs: the usual 192mm and a smaller one to reduce the masses by 180mm. It will also be possible to choose as an optional or “after-market” VEN 13 system with the innovative modulated braking system, which after some technical developments carried out by the CRG racing department and the internal technical office, represents a valid, reliable and effective, both in the DD (direct drive) and KZ versions. As an option, a new steering wheel will also be available which offers increased grip to the driver and has a structure already designed to house the most common data acquisition systems and steering wheel displays.

CRG chassis with 2025-2027 homologation

KT2: The body of this model is made of 30mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is particularly suitable for direct drive categories, both International (OK – OKJ), and for the main single-brand trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and Rok. The design of the body is conventional and among its strong points, it has the ease with which it can be combined with all types of tires (option and prime) and the feeling it offers the driver with simple setup adjustments. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings. By implementing the chassis with the gear lever and clutch kit, the KT2 model can also be used in the KZ categories if a softer and smoother chassis than the usual 32mm is required, useful for example in track conditions with a lot of grip.

KT4: The body of this model is made of 30mm and 32mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is characterized by particular geometries in the central part of the tank. It offers excellent lateral grip and is halfway between the classic 30mm and 32mm chassis, always offering an excellent feeling to the driver, especially on slippery and poorly rubberized tracks. The KT4 model also has its most natural place in the direct drive categories, but by implementing the chassis with the gear lever and clutch kit, it can also be used in the KZ categories. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings.

KT5: The body of this model is made with 30mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes, while the front end in the part between the two “C”s of the spindles is made with 32mm tubes. These design choices make the KT5 model very precise at the front and much loved by drivers who appreciate this specific technical feature for their driving style. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings.  By implementing the chassis with the gear lever and clutch kit, it can also be used in the KZ categories.

Road Rebel: The body of this model is made with 32mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is particularly suitable for the Shifter categories, both International (KZ – KZ2), and for the categories with the gearbox of the main single-brand trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and Rok. The Road Rebel chassis is a multi-world champion and has always had braking, traction and lateral grip among its strong points, which are priority technical characteristics in high-performance categories such as the KZ one. This same chassis, in the winter season and in all cases where grip or greater ease in bringing the tires into the operating “window” is sought, can also be used successfully with direct drive engines by requesting the DD setup which does not include front brakes and the gear shift levers. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings.

Black Mirror: The body of this model is made of 28 mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is FIA approved for the MINI classes, both National as required for WSK events, and for the major single-brand trophies (Rotax, Iame and Rok). The main feature of this chassis is the excellent basic balance with standard setup, which allows kids even with little experience to immediately find an excellent feeling with any type of tire and on all track layouts. The equipment is of high quality and includes magnesium rims and the VEN 12 hydraulic braking system.
