Jasin Ferati dominates at DEKM half-time in Genk

The German Electric Kart Championship’s season half-time took place in Belgian Genk last weekend (2nd to 4th of August). The 1.360m long top track was the location of the half-time races in the first pure Electric Kart racing series in the world. Swiss Jasin Ferati impressed with a four-time victory. The high power density of the starting field showed itself once again. During qualifying and the races, the drivers were only narrowly apart – partly there were only milliseconds between them.

Jasin Ferati two times on top on Saturday

Jasin Ferati already fought for victory at the races in Kerpen. This time, he achieved ending up on top of the podium. At qualifying, a well-known face was on top initially though: Luka Wlömer from Berlin led the field. But he already had to let the Swiss pass during the pre-final and after all in the final as well. Guest driver Finn Gehrsitz celebrated a successful DEKM debut due to third place at the final race.

Double victory for Ferati on Sunday

Spurred by his success of the previous day, Jasin Ferati was unstoppable on Sunday. He was the fastest driver of the free practices as well as qualifying and won the pre-final and the final. He, therefore, looked back on a perfect weekend and is now close to the top of the list of rankings. “It’s been an incredible weekend. I can’t really describe how I’m feeling. I’m the first driver to have won all four races this year. Now I have the feeling to win and want to tie in with this in the upcoming races”, the winner rejoiced at the finish line.

On the further ranks, there were a couple of changes this time. British Bradley Barrett came in second respectively, overall leader Luka Wlömer followed on third place in the final race. Guest driver Finn Gehrsitz showed another great race. After a falling out during the pre-final, he drove forward to fourth place during the final race.

Championship still exciting – next race in Ampfing

Due to his four-time victory, Jasin Ferati (154 points) gained a lot of ground on the overall list of rankings and decreased his backlog on leader Wlömer (186 points) to 32 points. Joel Sturm (140 points) is currently in third place. The next event is going to take place in about two months in Bavarian Ampfing. The DEKM is going to start on the Schweppermannring for the first time from October 4th to 6th and is going to kick-off the final phase of this year’s season.
