Italian F4: Three pole positions for Joshua Dufek at Mugello Circuit
Three pole positions for the Swiss Van Amersfoort racing driver, who, at the Mugello Circuit, surprised everyone with a phenomenal performance.
The name which was not expected was that of Joshua Dufek at the Mugello Circuit. The Swiss driver with Van Amersfoort Racing left all others behind during the penultimate round of the season and surprised everyone by getting better lap after lap, and stopping the clock at 1’47.690 in the first session and then with a 1’47.339 in the second, taking also the third pole thanks to his second best time of 1’47.469.
In race 1, as in race 3, Leonardo Fornaroli (Iron Lynx) will start from the front row, beside the Van Amersfoort Racing driver. On the second row, in the first race which is scheduled tomorrow for 1.55pm, will be Sebastian Montoya (Prema Powerteam) and the series leader Oliver Bearman (Van Amersfoort Racing) who ended the session with the exact same time of Joshua Durksen (Muecke Motorsport), but who will start in front of the Paraguayan, having scored his time before. The third row was completed by the German Tim Tramnitz (US Racing), second in the overall standings and needs to make up places early. 0.001 sec is the time between Tramnitz and Kirill Smal (Prema Powerteam) who will start from the fourth row together with Nikita Bedrin (Van Amersfoort Racing), who was the best of the rookies. Santiago Ramos (Jenzer Motorsport) and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Prema Powerteam) second among the rookies and in front of Francesco Braschi (Jenzer Motorsport) who completes the top 10 of the first qualifying.
In race 2 it will be again Dufek who will start ahead the others, but it will be his teammate Oliver Bearman, just 0.073 sec from the poleman, who will start beside him. Second row for Sebastian Montoya flanked by Leonardo Fornaroli. Third row for Kirill Smal and Joshua Durksen, who showed to be extremely at ease on the Tuscan track. Fourth row for Nikita Bedrin and Tim Tramnitz who will start ahead of Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Bence Valint.
In race 3 Dufek-Fornaroli will need to watch their backs with Joshua Durksen and Oliver Bearman right behind, while the Prema Powerteam duo Montoya-Smal will start from the third row.
Saturday at 1.55pm race 1. Sunday at 9.40 am and at 3.40 pm the other two races of the penultimate round of the season.
