Despite not knowing the track, one of the toughest on the schedule, the Emirati female racer got up to speed and finished the weekend oh a high note. In race 1, Al Qubaisi posted a 15th place with an excellent recovery drive from P21 on the grid, producing very competitive laps. In race 2, the rain came into play, and it was a particularly challenging situation for a rookie. Hamda learned her ropes and minimized the mistakes until she was pushed off by another contender late in the running. However, Race 3 fully made up for the disappointment. Hamda started from the 17th place and worked her way up the field to finish in 11th place overall, 8th among rookies. It was a sound and consistent performance which also wrapped up her first points of the year for the rookie classification. She is now set to be back into action in two weeks at Red Bull Ring, the same track that saw her debut in single-seaters last year. Hamda Al Qubaisi "We messed up a bit in qualifying and it just didn’t go as planned, but I managed to finish race 1 with a good result in P14 after I started from P21. For race 2 it started to rain on the grid and it was a bit messy, but towards the end of the race I was pushed off by another driver so I wasn’t able to finish. However, in race 3 we ended very strong with a P11. Overall I think the team did an amazing job and I’m looking forward to the next race where we can be even stronger."
