Good performance for Maranello Kart at the Italian Championship in Adria

Maranello Kart had another good round at the Italian ACI Karting Championship in Adria with Alex Iancu in 60 Mini, Mattia Simonini in X30 Junior and Mario Martucci in X30 Senior.

A bit of bad luck spoiled the race of Alex Iancu, who put in a good performance in qualifying being among the quickest of 60 Mini and securing the third time of series 3, just a little bit more than 0.1s shy of the pole position. Iancu had an off with a few meters to go during the first qualifying heat, while fighting for the win. That was a real shame as things got trickier for Iancu since then and the situation did not improve either following another retirement in the second heat. Iancu’s potential was expressed in the third heat though, when he claimed P2 and in the fourth when he secured P4. Forced to run the second chance race, Iancu run a strong race again and claimed P3. Unfortunately he had to start from the back of the grid and Iancu had to retire from the first final due to an incident. In Race-2 he was 24th instead. His overall performance was positive nevertheless.

Mattia Simonini also had a positive run in X30 Junior. He was 10th out of 25 in qualifying, came seventh in Race-1 and ninth in Race-2. Mario Martucci also had a positive debut in X30 Senior. He was 12th in qualifying out of the 26 entered drivers, eighth after heats, 14th in Race-1 and 16th in Race-2.

The next on-track appointment for Maranello Kart is the sixth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship in Val Vibrata next August 26th, race open to categories KZ2 and KZ3, Iame X30 and Rotax.
