Bas Kaligis / Friday, April 25, 2025 / Categories: Singleseater FRECA: Yamakoshi ends Paul Ricard collective test on top The final afternoon session at Circuit Paul Ricard brought two productive days of pre-season collective testing to a close for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. Under sunny skies, Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) topped the timesheets with a best lap of 1:57.470, confirming the Japanese driver’s strong form ahead of the championship’s fifth season. The session was extremely close, with Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing) just 0.259s behind in second, followed by Jin Nakamura (R-ace GP) in third. Nikita Bedrin (Sainteloc Racing) and Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) rounded out the top five, separated by less than half a second from the leader. Sixth place went to Matteo De Palo (Trident), ahead of Doriane Pin (Prema Racing), Jack Beeton (Prema Racing), and Dion Gowda (VAR). Pedro Clerot (VAR) completed the top ten after a strong showing throughout the tests. The top fifteen featured Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi (Trident), Akshay Bohra (R-ace GP), Enzo Peugeot (RPM), and Ruiqi Liu (Trident), each making further progress in their pre-season preparations. With testing now complete, attention turns to the season opener: the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will get underway at Misano on the weekend of May 3rd and 4th, where the action will officially begin.
