Bart Luijkx / Tuesday, April 5, 2022 / Categories: News, Singleseater Formula Regional EU by Alpine: Michael Belov emerges quickest in first day of the Monza testing The 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season moved a step closer as the teams and drivers competing in this year’s series came together for the last collective test at Monza (5-6 April). Under clear blue skies, 37 drivers were in action in the Temple of Speed venue with Michael Belov laying down a marker for the rest of the field by topping the first session. With Belov leading the way with a lap-time of 1m47.279s, Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) was second quickest, 0.282 behind MP Motorsport’s driver, whilst Eduardo Barrichello (Arden Motorsport) claimed third in the combined standings, with an excellent performance that put the Brazilian ahead of the field in the afternoon. The fourth quickest time of the day belonged to Italian Gabriele Minì, driving for ART Grand Prix with Monolite Racing’s Maceo Capietto fifth quickest and first among the rookies. Sixth and seventh went to the Trident Motorsport pairing of Leonardo Fornaroli and Tim Tramnitz with the top-10 being rounded out by Dino Beganovic (Prema Racing), Joshua Durksen (Arden Motorsport) and Owen Tangavelou (G4 Racing). The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will start the engines for the last day of testing tomorrow at 9.00.
