Formula Regional EU by Alpine: Barrichello moves to Arden Motorsport for his second season

Brazilian racer Eduardo Barrichello has signed with Arden Motorsport for his second season in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine joining Noel Leon (Red Bull Junior) and Joshua Dürksen.

20-year-old driver competes again in the European series this year, now for the traditional British team Arden Motorsport. Founded in 1997 by the current boss of the Red Bull F1 team, Christian Horner, the team has accumulated achievements in the youth categories of European motorsport over the last 25 years.

Eduardo drove the Arden car in winter testing at the Red Bull Ring, when he was just 0.002 off the best time. In a top team and already familiar with the equipment and circuits of FRECA, – Barrichello hopes to fight more constantly in the points zone in 2022 – just like what happened in his career in single-seaters in the United States.

In the formation divisions of the Road to Indy program, the eldest son of Rubens Barrichello had a very learning rookie year at USF2000 in 2019, to fight for the title and finish as runner-up in 2020.

Eduardo Barrichello:

“I am very happy to race with Arden Motorsport in 2022. I can’t wait for the season to start. We had a very productive training session at the Red Bull Ring and we quickly bonded, which made me feel confident. I feel that I am privileged to have the opportunity to compete in a top tier championship with a competitive team. I am very grateful to Toyota Gazoo Racing and XP Investimentos for believing in the project and to my father for his support in making me pursue this dream”

Arden Motorsport’s Team Manager Ben Salter:

“I’m really pleased to announce Eduardo as Noel’s and Joshua’s team mate. We had a great couple of tests with him in Red Bull Ring and Barcelona. If Eduardo can maintain the performance, he showed in Red Bull Ring and Barcelona we should be in for a very strong season.”

The announcement of Barrichello completes Arden’s line up for its second season in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.
