Bart Luijkx / Thursday, March 24, 2022 / Categories: News, Singleseater Formula Regional by Alpine: 40 drivers on track for the official test at Barcelona The first of two day test at Barcelona officially kicked off the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine 2022 season. In a mix of wet and dry condition a number of 40 drivers have attended the first session in the morning. Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) set the best time of 1:40.497 in the final stages. Dino Beganovic (Prema Racing) finished second, 0.288 seconds behind the Italian. Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Brazil’s Eduardo Barrichello (Arden Motorsport) were third and fourth, both lapping in less than 1.41 seconds. Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) finished fifth. Frenchman Victor Bernier (FA Racing) emerged as best of the rookies after having secured the sixth quickest time at the end of the session ahead of Michael Belov (MP Motorsport) and Joshua Dufek (Van Amersfoort Racing). Dutchman Laurens Van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix) and Estonian Paul Aron (Prema Racing) rounded out the top 10. In sunny and dry condition Bortoleto topped the afternoon session, setting 1.41.176 ahead of Paraguayan rookie Joshua Dürksen (Arden Motorsport) and the driver of the Alpine Affiliate program Hadrien David (R-ace GP), while Barrichello was fourth both in the afternoon session and in the combined chart. Good performance for the rookies Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport), Tim Tramnitz (Trident Motorsport) and Maceo Capietto (Monolite Racing) who covered the positions from fifth to seventh.
