Exceptional mid-season outcome for the CRG Team in the KZ categories
The victories in both Finals of the two European Championship KZ Rounds (in Spain with Jeremy Iglesias and in Italy with Viktor Gustafsson), as well as the one in Wackersdorf in the preparation race for the FIA World Championship again with Gustafsson, place the CRG colors among the most prominent in the first part of the season in the top class with gearbox. To these successes, we need to add the title of European Vice Champion obtained by Jeremy Iglesias and the many podiums conquered in the WSK races, which complete an exceptional outcome for the CRG-TM duo in these first 6 months of the 2023 season.
Now there will be a few weeks off and then we will get back on track from 6 to 10 September on the Wackersdorf track, in Germany, for the FIA World Championship KZ and the KZ2 FIA World Cup, the most important events of the season. It is therefore legitimate for the CRG Racing Team to look to these appointments with great ambition and with growing expectations also in KZ2, after the podium of Paavo Tonteri in Germany and the excellent performances shown during the season also by Brandon Nilsson and Jorge Pescador, the latter with the Kalì Kart colours.
Behind these successes, there is certainly CRG’s technical approach to the KZ categories, which have always represented one of the most important market segments and where the Italian Factory invests from a technical point of view with continuous developments, an attitude that has made the KZ classes a terrain of great sporting successes all over the world for the CRG brand. From a technical point of view, CRG has written pages of history in the KZ classes with the Road Rebel chassis, made with 32mm tubes and capable of adapting to any track condition in an incredibly versatile way. At the same time, the KT2 chassis with 30mm tubes, winner of the World Championship with Viktor Gustafsson last year, were also developed and used by some of the Racing Team drivers and offer a particularly effective feeling to the driver him/herself in grip conditions, in addition to the KT4 chassis, which represents a middle ground between the 32mm and 30cc models, being made with tubes of both sizes (30 and 32mm).
In the KZ categories, CRG boasts a long-standing partnership also with the TM engines, which for some seasons have been managed on the track by the multiple victorious Gianfranco Galiffa. This CRG-TM combination is also one of the most successful on the market, being chosen by thousands of drivers in the National Series every year. Great credit must also go to CRG’s Racing Department, always capable of optimizing setups and managing the complexity of decisive race weekends, as well as to the drivers, who have confirmed a very strong line-up, both in KZ with Gustafsson, Iglesias, and Arthur Carbonnel, in his first year in the top class, and in KZ2 as well, where in addition to the official drivers, in the World Championship in September, CRG colors will also be able to count on many external teams and private drivers.
