Bas Kaligis / Wednesday, April 5, 2023 / Categories: Singleseater Elite Motorsport confirms Harri Reynolds and Josh Irfan in GB4 line-up for Oulton Park Elite Motorsport has confirmed a two-car line-up for the 2023 GB4 Championship season opener at Oulton Park this weekend (7-10 April), with Harri Reynolds and Josh Irfan set to make their single-seater race debuts. Reynolds was a front-runner in the Ginetta Junior Championship last season, and is aiming to complete the full GB4 campaign with Elite, which won multiple GB4 races last season. After a successful karting career, the 16-year-old from Narberth, Pembrokeshire, became a Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist in 2020, and raced in the series the following season, finishing 11th overall and the fourth best-placed rookie. Remaining in the series for 2022, Reynolds was fourth overall with 12 podiums, with three of those being race wins. London-based Irfan, aged 15, is already committed to the British F4 Championship this season, but the GB4 season opener will mark his maiden car racing appearance and provide a valuable exercise in race craft. A karting graduate of strong pedigree with multiple titles to his name, Irfan showed plenty of pace in the recent Donington Park media day test, setting the second quickest time. Harri Reynolds said: “At the moment Oulton is a one-off but I’m working very hard to raise the necessary funding to do more races on the GB4 calendar. “I’ve chosen to race at Oulton because I believe GB4 to be the best entry-level single-seater championship in the UK at an affordable price that offers a natural progression into GB3. “Elite are very professional and have been very supportive, helping me improve. My aim for Oulton is to fight for wins and podiums while building on my limited experience in GB4. “I’ve done five test days with Elite, two in Barcelona, and have really enjoyed the challenge of learning the new car and can’t wait to get racing!” Josh Irfan said: “I’m competing in British Formula 4 this season but have the chance to gain some single-seater experience before the opening F4 rounds. “I’ll be racing with Carlin in F4 and they recommended Elite. My aim is to get some experience but also have fun. “I’ve tested the Elite GB4 car twice, at Silverstone and at Donington. GB4 comes more naturally to me currently than British F4 but I’ve still loads to learn.” Team Owner and Manager Eddie Ives said: “I’m really pleased to be running both Harri and Josh this weekend at Oulton Park. “GB4 has all the ingredients to be a fantastic championship and we are pleased to be a part of it in 2023. “We’ve done some testing with both Josh and Harri which has gone well. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together at Oulton.” For more championship information, visit www.gb-4.net Previous Article Many highlights in the DKM season Next Article This weekend Arthur Rogeon starts his first race at the wheel of a single-seater!
