DKM ready for final event in Ampfing

After a year-long break, back in Upper Bavaria

Frankfurt on the Main. Next weekend, the 2021 DKM season is going to end in Ampfing (Upper Bavaria). After a year-long break, the highest German kart racing series is going to be back on the Schweppermannring and is looking forward to thrilling races – the fight for the title is still open in three grade series.

„We as a team are very content to have been able to stick to our calendar for the entire season. We're one of a few Championships who can say that. Our extensive concept and the staff's extra effort have paid off. I'd like to thank everyone involved, drivers and teams who have supported us and dealt with all the restrictions“, said Stefan Wagner, looking back on the good season.

With the kick-off in Kerpen, the 59th season of the German Kart Championship started at the beginning of May. After that, the drivers went to Wackersdorf, Genk (BEL) and Mülsen. Now, the last decisions of the year are going to be made in Ampfing. The fight for the title is still open in the three grade series DKM, DJKM and DSKM.

Experience season final in Ampfing live at the live stream

The last ranked races of the 2021 season are going to be broadcast live via online-stream at www.kart-dm.de as well. On Saturday and Sunday, 16 hours of live images await kart racing fans. From qualifying and the heats to the finals and the award ceremony can all be watched up close. Additionally, there will also be extensive news on the social media channels of the DKM again.

Spectators welcome at the racetrack

For the final of the German Kart Championship, spectators can again be on the track for the first time since 2019. Kart fans can secure their tickets for the highest German kart series via an online shop set up for this purpose and experience the title fight live at the weekend in Ampfing. The 3G rule applies to attending the event.

Which drivers will gain the Championship trophies?

In the top class, DKM, Niels Tröger (SRP Racing Team) starts into the race as the leading driver. Even though he's been leading the Championship ever since the kick-off in Kerpen, he can't have a rest. With the twins Julian and Sandro Holzem (both CV Performance Group) as well as the KSM Offical Racing Team duo Elias Olsen and Luca Griggs, there are four drivers still very close to him, who all still have hopes of winning the title.

At the juniors, there was a change at the top after the last event in Mülsen. Maxim Rehm (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) took the lead with his second double victory of the season and wants to win the Championship as a German driver again after seven years. Only Aksay Bohra (TB Racing Team) could still take it away from him – both are only two points apart before the final event.

Even though the favorites Senna van Walstijn (CPB Sport) and Fabian Federer (SRP Racing Team) each had to deal with a falling out in Mülsen, they are still on first and second places of the overall list of rankings. Only reigning Champion Juho Valtanen (SP Motorsport) on third place is still part of the fight for the title. With an advance of 27 points, van Walstijn has a comfortable cushion against his pursuers though.

Jakob Bergmeister (SRP Racing Team) cannot be caught up with in the DMSB Shifterkart Cup (DSKC). He is currently 42 points ahead of Thomas Imbourg (CPB Sport) on second place. The Frenchman is not going to start at the final in Ampfing anymore though and thereby caused an early Championship decision.

The drivers from more than 15 nations are already going to start on the 1.034m long track on Friday. On Saturday, qualifying and the heats are going to start from 10:15 am, the final races are going to start on Sunday from 9:50 am. The current Corona regulations in Bavaria make it possible for an audience to be present again. Tickets can be ordered online. The 3G-rule applies for the event.

All information regarding the racing weekend can be viewed at the DMSB-portal.
