DKM is ready to start in 2023 - New classifications and new track

Franciacorta (ITA) completes race calendar

A few days before the turn of the year, the program of the German Kart Championship is ready. After the calendar was already published in October, Franciacorta (Italy) completes the program. In addition, further innovations await in the highest German kart racing series. The registration starts on December 20th.

From April 21-23, the first decisions of 2023 will be made in Mülsen, Saxony. After that, the pack travels to Genk in Belgium. The top international circuit welcomes the drivers of the predicate series from May 26-28. At the halfway point of the season, the drivers head to Wackersdorf at the end of August (25-27 August). The Prokart Raceland offers an international flair two weeks before the Kart World Championship at the same location and at the same time crowns the half-time champions. New territory awaits at the Erftlandring in Kerpen - the traditional race track has already received a new asphalt and will be further rebuilt in the coming weeks. The first title decisions may already be made at the fourth championship round from September 22-24.

Final in Franciacorta (Italy)

The Italian top circuit in Franciacorta will be represented in the program for the first time. Three weeks after the OK World Championship at the same venue, the champions of the year will be crowned there from October 27-29. An hour's drive from Milan, the 1,300-meter circuit offers a great setting for the last decisions of the year. The event is jointly organized by the DKM team and local officials. In 2022, the team in Franciacorta was awarded Organizer of the Year by the FIA.

New Masters classification in both Shifter kart classes

For two years now, there has been a rookie classification in the DKM and DJKM for the youngest participants in the field. In 2023, an additional Masters classification will be announced in the DSKM and DSKC. All registered drivers born in 1988 and older will automatically take part. In addition to a large championship trophy, the two winners will each receive a waiver of the registration fee for the following season.

Up to 70.000€ prize money in the team championship

The TB Racing Team won the team classification in 2022 and collected prize money of 15,000€, a total of 50,000€ in prize money was distributed to the top ten teams. In the upcoming season, the team classification will be further upgraded. With more than 100 registrations in the four predicates of the DKM, a total prize money of 50.000€ will be distributed again. Even 70,000€ in prize money awaits the ten best teams with an enrollment of over 150 drivers.

DKM starts with 100% CO2 neutral fuel (E-Fuel)

The German Kart Championship will rely on E-Fuel in the future: After a tendering process, the decision was made in favour of P1 Fuels. This makes the DKM one of the first kart racing series worldwide to rely on 100% fossil-free fuel.

There are also innovations in the training ban before the race events. From the upcoming season, participants will only be banned from testing and training on the Thursday before a race event.

The official regulations for the 2023 season have been published at www.kart-dm.de. Online registration will also start at December the 20th 2022.

In addition to the five races of the DKM, the team is also hosting the Road to Wackersdorf this year. From July 20-23, the event will be the best option to test for the World Karting Championship. The classes KZ, KZ2 and KZ2 Masters are announced. The schedule and the technical regulations including tires and fuel are based on those of the FIA Kart World Championship.
