Dion Gowda joins Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2025 FRECA Season

Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) is excited to announce that Indian racing talent Dion Gowda will join their FRECA (Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine) team for the 2025 season. His arrival marks an exciting new chapter for both Dion and VAR. The team is excited to support his development as he competes in one of Europe’s most prestigious development series.
 

The 16-year-old Dion Gowda, born in Bangalore, India, began his motorsport journey at the age of 9, being inspired by Formula 1 icons. He quickly made a name for himself in karting, securing podium finishes in the ROK Cup Singapore and X30 South East Asia Championship. By 14, he had progressed to the World Karting Championship and FIA Karting Academy Trophy, claiming a pole position and multiple race wins. Dion transitioned to single-seaters in 2023, debuting in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, before impressing in the 2023 British F4 Championship with four wins and six podiums. In 2024, he competed in the Italian F4 and Euro 4 Championships, achieving two podium finishes.
 

Van Amersfoort Racing believes that FRECA is the ideal next step for Dion, offering him the chance to showcase his talent on Europe’s most iconic circuits. This step forward is crucial in his journey up the motorsport ladder. The team is looking forward to supporting him through this new challenge, confident that his skills will continue to evolve in the competitive FRECA field.

The 2025 FRECA season will be an exciting step forward for Dion and the entire VAR team. The Championship features ten race weekends, kicking off in May and ending in October at the legendary Temple of Speed in Monza.
