Bas Kaligis / Wednesday, March 8, 2023 / Categories: Singleseater David Morales joins JHR Developments for GB3 return American driver David Morales will switch to the JHR Developments team for his GB3 return in 2023. The 19-year-old from Florida scored a podium during his debut GB3 campaign in 2022, and has already tasted victory this year with a triumph at Highlands Motorsport Park in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship. Since his car racing debut in 2019, Morales has taken podiums in Formula 4 in Britain and Mexico, plus in Formula Regional Asia, and also added sports cars to his CV last year with races in both a Praga and a Radical. JHR scored its first GB3 race win last year with Matthew Rees at Brands Hatch, and Morales joins the Welshman and F4 graduate Joseph Loake in the Derbyshire squad’s full three-car line-up. David Morales said: “I was looking for a new challenge for the 2023 season and I am super excited about the chance to race with JHR Developments in the GB3 Championship. It’s a good team with strong results, including winning everything in British F4 in 2021 and placing in the top seven in GB3 last year. “With three good drivers in the team, sharing data and video, we’ll be in a good place. Matthew is ridiculous on his corner entries, Joseph is meticulous, and there’s me – a mixture of both, so we should complement each other. “I’m feeling good and positive after winning a race and getting podiums in Formula Regional so I’m keen to get back behind the wheel and prepare for the rest of the season. I’d also like to thank Euro Motorsport and 29 Management for their support.” Team Principal Steven Hunter said: “We’re delighted that David will be joining us in the GB3 Championship this season, rounding out a strong three-car line-up. He comes with experience in the car which is a real benefit, and his driving style compliments both Matthew and Joseph. “We think that as a trio they should all be able to help each other throughout the year and I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses. David’s personality has already made for some entertaining test days as he is a funny young man and that relaxed attitude but desire to compete will fit in with us well.” For more championship information visit www.gb-3.net.
