Bas Kaligis / Thursday, August 20, 2020 / Categories: CIKFIA CRG’s Racing Team in OK and OK Junior at Sarno for the European Championship The International Karting circus will be in Italy again this coming weekend as OK and OK Junior are all set to run their 2nd round of the FIA European Championship in Sarno. After the not very lucky opening in Zuera, CRG’s Racing Team worked hard to improve its performance and all drivers are resolute to run a strong race. CRG will field six drivers in Sarno: Rasmuss Joutsimies and Civico Genis will contest OK, while Mickey Magnussen, Eric Gené, Francesco Marenghi and Nico Lahnalahti OK Junior. The team coordinator Marco Angeletti made the point regarding his expectations ahead of the race in Sarno: “The work we are doing in Junior and OK is on all fronts: from the chassis, to engines and drivers. Regarding drivers, we have a very young team and this, as well as the lock-down, penalized a bit the development of our material at the beginning of the season but now they all are more experienced and the working program proceeds faster. One of the main goals of our Racing Team is to complete R&D work for our series production and the work done over the past few months, even if not very fruitful in terms of results, allowed us to make some good progress in all the technical areas. Our potential has not been converted into results so far, especially in qualifying which has often complicated our racing weekends. We worked a lot to improve this aspect and we expect better performances in Sarno. We have a lot of novelties in the team and some more will arrive in the coming months, therefore we will need some time to refine all the working mechanisms. Our target is to fight for the podium in the KZ and OK World Championships that will take place at the end of the season”. The program of the weekend in Sarno will follow the usual format of FIA meetings with qualifying practice on Friday, heats on Saturday and Sunday morning and the two Finals on Sunday afternoon. The 3rd and closing round of the Euro OK and OK Junior Championship will take place in Wackersdorf (Germany) next September 10th-13th.
