Bas Kaligis / Thursday, May 17, 2018 / Categories: International CRG TO THE FORE IN THE SPANISH CHAMPIONSHIP The second round of the Spanish Championship in Zuera highlighted the speed of CRG drivers. Fontecha claimed the win in Senior, Santos in KZ2 and De Gaye in Silver. CRG colors had a strong weekend in Zuera and scored several great results in the second round of the Spanish Championship. Fontecha in Senior, Santos, Cebriane and Meyer in KZ2 and De Gaye in Silver have displayed a great speed. The winning performance in Senior came from Ayrton Fontecha Martinez, who won Race-2 after claiming P3 in Race-1. Javier Sagrera also had a good weekend and ended both finals in fifth place after being second in qualifying and heats. In KZ2, after the second place obtained by Gerard Cebrian in Race-1 withKilian Meyer following him suit on the podium, CRG secured a one-two in Race-2 with Lisard Santos taking the win and Kilian Meyer coming second. CRG placed four drivers in the top six, as Cebrian (in the lead early on) was fourth and Enrico Prosperi sixth. The latter put in a great comeback in the second final after the retirement from the first. Yohan Sousa crossed the finish line in fifth place, but a 10s time penalty unfortunately relegated him to the final ninth place. In Silver, Brice De Gaye won Race-2 after coming second in Race-1. Lucas Pons was the best of CRG drivers in Junior thanks to his ninth place in Race-2. In Cadets, Alejandro Melendez was seventh in Race-1 and eighth in Race-2.
