CRG and Gomez won in Třinec and increase their leadership in the OK European Championship

Showdown in Třinec for CRG in the second Round of the FIA European Championship - OK & Junior, where Gabriel Gomez in the OK category secured the Pole Position in Qualifying Practices, won all the Heats and conquered the Final, setting the fastest lap of the race, too. A domination which, in the middle of the Championship, is worth the leadership of the general classification for the Brazilian driver and the provisional 1st place among the teams for the CRG Racing Team.

Gabriel, who uses Iame engines provided by BM Motors on track, had no rivals on the Czech track and confirmed how the KT2 chassis is currently at the top in international races on any type of circuit and with any type of tire used.

As further confirmation of the excellent performance of CRG chassis, Mark Dubnitski, in the OK category too, also had a very positive weekend, fast and constant in all stages of the event and who could very well have fought for the podium, but due to a not so perfect start in the Final, he lost contact with the leaders and finished in P8 only. A bit more delayed Mattia Colnaghi, who however proved to have an excellent race pace, as well as Francisco Macedo and Jimmy Helias, the latter making his debut with CRG colors and who took advantage of this opportunity, first of all to familiarize himself with the chassis CRG and the technical staff.

Also in OK-Junior, Gabriel Koenigkan proved to be fast, at the same level of the best drivers attending the event, always finishing in the top 5, both in Qualifying Practice and in the Super Heat. Unfortunately a wrong start in the Final also for him, made him lose many positions and brought him to finish in P18 only.

Next Round of the FIA Karting European Championship is scheduled for June 15 – 18, on the Danish track of Rodby.

CRG and Gomez will get there as Championship leaders, strong in the results obtained in the two previous rounds, with great expectations to be able to impose themselves again and extend their lead in the standings.

CRG drivers’ post-race reactions:

Gabriel Gomez (OK): “It was the perfect weekend, always first in every phase of the meeting, from Qualifying Practice to the Heat, up to the Final, where we also set the fastest lap. The technical feedback from this weekend is exceptional and confirms how balanced and fast the chassis has always been in all conditions, both on a track that had little grip in the first few days, up to the Final, as well as with new tires in the single lap in Qualifying and with severely used tires in the Qualifying Stages. What I am saying is also confirmed by the excellent performances of all my team mates. Now I have a good margin in the standing and in the next two races we will do our best to bring home this important FIA title. Obviously I would like to thank all the technical staff and Nicola Boscaini for the Iame engines he supplies us with”.

Mark Dubnitski (OK): “My weekend was very positive. Everyone's performances show how well the chassis works and my ambition was to enter the fight for the podium in the race, but unfortunately I didn't get a good start and the high pace, with no big fights ahead of me, made it difficult for me to recover positions. However, looking at the performance over the entire weekend, we can only leave the Czech Republic with a smile".
