Cremona, it's time! The Winter Series round 1 is about to start

The first results are in from Cremona Circuit, where two days of testing and sporting checks have just concluded, delivering the first key figures of the year.

A total of 173 drivers are set to compete in the opening round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Series. The technical verifications have confirmed the trends seen in 2024, with Senior MAX once again the most crowded category, featuring 81 drivers. Following closely are Junior MAX with 33 drivers, Mini MAX with 32 drivers, while DD2/DD2 Masters fields 27 participants.

Among the teams, Dan Holland Racing leads the way with 14 drivers on the grid. Several significant driver changes have marked the transition from the previous season. Oliver Spencer (KR Sport) is one to watch in Mini MAX, after finishing as runner-up last year behind champion Albert Friend (Strawberry).

Friend has now moved up to the more powerful Junior MAX category. A similar path has been followed in Senior MAX by Toms Strele and Cameron Nelson (Dan Holland Racing), who were among the Junior MAX frontrunners in 2024 and are now ready to challenge the category’s specialists, such as Sean Butcher (KR Sport), Kai Hunter (Hunter Motorsport), and Austin Lee (Kraft Motorsport). Last year’s Junior Vice-Champion, Ties van Wijk, has also graduated to Senior MAX, joining Dan Holland Racing.
