Costa Toparis completes Rodin Carlin’s GB3 Line-up

Australian driver Costa Toparis will complete Rodin Carlin’s GB3 line-up for the 2023 season.  The 15-year-old will make his full-season European racing debut as he takes on the eight round championship which kicks off in April. Toparis lines-up alongside already confirmed team-mates Callum Voisin and John Bennett.

Toparis raced with the then Carlin team for the first time at the Abu Dhabi F4 Trophy late last year. Joining fellow-Rodin backed driver Louis Sharp, Toparis claimed a fourth-place finish in race one of the event which supported the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Following the move of car manufacturer Rodin Cars to majority shareholder of the now re-branded Rodin Carlin race team, Toparis will race in their familiar colours this season. In racing with Rodin Carlin on historic British tracks, Toparis follows in the footsteps of successful drivers as Daniel Ricciardo, Kevin Magnussen and Lando Norris, all of whom learnt their race craft on circuits such as Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone which feature in the GB3 Championship.

Costa Toparis said: “I want to thank Rodin Cars for their continued support of my career and for giving me this incredible opportunity to race in the GB3 Championship. I appreciate the faith that they and the team have placed in me and know that together we can achieve great results.

“I have had the chance to test the car over the winter and have had time to get to know the team as well. It’s been a fantastic experience and we are making positive progress. I am eager for the season to commence as I have so much to learn as well as having the good fortune of competing against so many great future racing stars.”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin added, “Costa has already made a huge amount of progress since he first made the big step to leave Australia and test with us in the UK. He’s still very young, but he has a fantastic attitude and works incredibly hard to maximize every opportunity.

“Costa did a great job at the F4 Trophy Race in Abu Dhabi at the end of last season, which was the perfect taster for the close racing he’ll experience in the GB3 Championship. I look forward to seeing what he can achieve in the 2023 season with us.”
