Birel ART concludes WSK Super Master with a win and two titles

Birel ART Racing's excellent start to the season came to fruition in Sarno with very positive results in the WSK Super Master Series. Despite wet and changeable weather conditions for the Final stages, Ean Eyckmans took a convincing victory in OK that confirmed him as the series' 2024 champion, while Cristian Bertuca brilliantly secured the KZ2 title.

"At the end of this early season, we are very pleased to have been able to demonstrate the excellent competitiveness of the S16 chassis in our 2024 range", declared Ronni Sala, President of Birel ART, "In a variety of conditions, our drivers took advantage of their high-performance equipment to stay ahead of their rivals. As evidenced by his significant lead in the championship, Cristian Bertuca has dominated this winter period, which is very important for the upcoming races. Birel ART affirmed its ambitions in KZ by placing four of its drivers in the top 10 of this first competition. Our performances in OK are particularly satisfying. Ean Eyckmans showed great maturity to win the WSK Super Master Series. We can count on him for the next races. A lot of good work has been done in the team. I would also like to congratulate Riccardo Longhi, the team manager for the KZ classes, and Jordon Lennox, the team manager for the OK classes. More generally, I would like to pay tribute to the drivers, the team and factory staff and our partners for their constant involvement in achieving these victories."

At Sarno, Ean Eyckmans secured his second OK victory of the season after a progressively improving campaign. Winner of the Prefinal and the Final, he was crowned with a lead of over 120 points. Earlier in the season, Noah Wolfe (VAR by Birel) and Mees Houben also showed their competitiveness.

In KZ2, Cristian Bertuca monopolised the top spot from the very first round of the WSK Super Master Series to claim his second consecutive title. This year, he had a lead of over 140 points. Artem Severiukhin put in a fine performance right through to the Prefinal. The fastest driver in the Final, his result suffered from a few setbacks. Daniel Vasile reached the Final top 10 after a number of battles. The three Birel ART Racing drivers set the three fastest laps in the Final.

The Birel ART Racing team will now concentrate on preparing for the FIA Karting European OK Championship, taking part in next weekend's Champions of the Future Euro Series in Valencia, Spain.
