Bas Kaligis / Tuesday, December 1, 2020 / Categories: DKM At full throttle into 2021: DKM presents racing calendar After one of the shortest DKM seasons in years, the highest German Kart Championship presents the race calendar for 2021. On five weekends racers will drive on the best racetracks in Germany and Belgium. The kick-off will take place in May, with the final taking place at the beginning of October. The year 2020 was exciting in every aspect. The Corona pandemic caused numerous changes in the planned racing program of the German Kart Championship with its five predicates. A full program with five venues is planned for the coming year. As in 2020, the Erftlandring in Kerpen will lead the way: from May 7th to 9th, the first decisions of the season will be made on the traditional track in western Germany. It continues in the beginning of June (04.-06.06.) in Wackersdorf. Two weeks before the European Shifter Kart Championship at the same place, the DKM race is the general rehearsal. Traditionally, the Prokart Raceland promises a full field of participants and exciting races again. At the half-time of the season, the DKM group travels to Genk, Belgium, for the only foreign race from 30.07.-01.08. This year, unfortunately, the race on the international top track had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic. For the ending of the season, a premiere at the DKM awaits. After the failure of this year's race on the new racetrack in Mülsen, it should be time in 2021. In the beginning of September (10-12 September) the international field of participants will be in Saxony. The big season finale will take place only three weeks later (01.-03.10.) at the Schweppermannring in Ampfing. The 1,036-meter-long track offers a successful atmosphere for the completion of an eventful year with brilliant winners. In principle, not much will change in the DKM framework program for 2021. A new and participant-dependent rating mode for the DMSB kart predicates is still being worked on. There will also be news in the DSKM and DSKC holding format. Once again, the four classes DKM, DJKM, DSKM and DSKC will be advertised. Also, the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) is once again part of the racing program. The E-Kart Project E20, the technology partner BRP Rotax, will once again be used there - it already convinced in 2020 and provided for exciting karting. In addition, all DEKM participants can once again look forward to the attractive "Arrive & Drive Package". "We are happy to present an attractive calendar with great tracks again. When selecting the dates, it was important to us that we do not have any overlaps with the major international and national series. We have succeeded in that and it supports the attractiveness of the DKM. Our successfully used hygiene concept gets a "fine cut" and will also be used again. We will once again accompany all events extensively in live stream and social media," says DKM series coordinator Stefan Wagner, looking forward to the new season. The online registration will start as usual in January on the website www.kart-dm.de.
