Alpine Academy’s Abbi Pulling dominated the F1 Academy weekend in Miami

Alpine Academy’s Abbi Pulling dominated the F1 Academy weekend in Miami, celebrating two wins from two races to complete a near-perfect weekend in Round 2 of the series at the Miami International Autodrome. Abbi scored 57 points from a maximum of 58 over the weekend after securing a pole position double and the Fastest Lap in Race 2.

Running on the Formula 1 support bill, Abbi (Rodin Motorsport) hit the track in Miami with a second and first-place finish in the two practice sessions. Dominating the timesheets in Qualifying, the British driver went on to secure pole position for both races. She was over half a second quicker than her nearest rival for Race 1 and just short of a similar margin for Race 2, such was the Briton’s dominance on track.

Claiming her first on-track win in F1 Academy on Saturday, Abbi pulled a lead to cross the chequered flag in first by five seconds in Race 1. She then took her second victory in Race 2, by three seconds, claiming an additional point for the fastest lap having led every racing lap over the weekend.

Starting the weekend at the front of the championship Abbi has now extended her lead by 34 points as she looks ahead to Round 3 in Barcelona (21-23 June).

Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport)
"It was almost a perfect weekend, scoring 57 out of a possible 58 points. We extended the championship by 34 points, which sets us up nicely for Spain in just under two months. From the start of the weekend, we showed we had pace and secured double pole in Qualifying. In Race 1 it was lights to flag at the front, we put on our best tyres and the car set-up was great which meant we were able to pull a five-second gap by the chequered flag. Starting from pole again for Race 2, I knew the car next to me had new tyres whilst I did not, so it was definitely going to be a challenge. It was about keeping the car behind at the start, and I managed to get my elbows out and do that. From there it was a copy and paste from the first race. It was a dream weekend in Miami. A huge thank you to all my partners, Alpine and Rodin Motorsport for the unforgettable race weekend."
