All is set in Sarno for the finals of the WSK Super Master Series

The final stages will take place on Sunday, March 13. A lot of spectacles is ahead at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno. Prefinals will begin at 10.40, Finals at 14.20 and will be available in Live Streaming.

After 41 qualifying heats run on Friday and Saturday, it is nearly time for the final stages of the WSK Super Master Series at the International Circuit Napoli of Sarno (Salerno). Prefinals will be in the morning of Sunday, March 13, and will be followed by the much-awaited Finals in the afternoon.

A lot of very hard-fought challenges involved the 271 drivers coming from 51 different countries to define the main candidates to the 2022 titles of the WSK Super Master Series. After the heats held on Friday and Saturday, KZ2 is led by the Spanish driver Pedro Hiltbrand, OK by the Japanese Kean Nakamura-Berta, OKJ by Kirill Kutskov and MINI by the Italian Iacopo Martinese.

 

Hiltbrand takes the lead of KZ2. Classification leader Trefilov accused some delay.

In KZ2 the Spanish driver Pedro Hiltbrand (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing-Vega) secured two wins in the heats, which promoted him to the lead of the classification. The French driver Tom Leuillet (Leclerc by Lennox Racing/BirelART-TM Racing) is chasing him and scored two wins, as his teammate Matteo ViganĂ². The pole-sitter from Holland Van Hoepen (Leclerc by Lennox Racing/BirelART-TM Racing) is currently fourth equal on penalties with Emilien Denner (Sodi/Sodi-TM Racing). The championship leader the German David Trefilov (Maranello SRP/Maranello-TM Racing) is at the back for the time being.

In OK Nakamura is the main rival of the championship leader Turney.

In OK the Japanese Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame-LeCont), who is third in the championship, claimed three nice victories in the three heats run on Saturday. His teammate from Jamaica Alex Powell (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) is challenging him for the win: he secured the pole position in qualifying practice and then won two heats. The classification leader Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) is among the fastest but is currently sixth as he won only one heat.

Kutskov sets the pace in OKJ, but classification leader Bondarev is among the front-runners.

Nice duels have been fought in OKJ where Kirill Kutskov (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing-Vega) made a big step forward winning the three heats held on Saturday. The championship leader from Ukraine Oleksandr Bondarev (Ricky Flynn/LN-Vortex) is currently second after the heats thanks to a victory. He still is the favourite to the final win. The third place after the heats is occupied by Polish Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex), won one heat.   

Classification of the heats by penalty: 1. Kutskov pen. 3; 2. Bondarev pen. 6; 3. Przyrowski pen. 11; 4. Dzitiev pen. 11; 5. Fluxa Cross pen. 14; 6. Khavalkin pen. 15; 7. Kaczynski pen. 17; 8. Matveev pen 18.    

 

Martinese is leading MINI after the heats. Pesl handed a disqualification.

The races of MINI have been particularly exciting as usual. The category is quite crowded also in this occasion with 79 drivers coming from 34 different countries. The classification is still sub-judice due to a disqualification handed to the classification leader from the Czech Republic Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame-Vega) due to an incident in the first heat on Saturday. Pesl filed an appeal but is currently tenth in the overall classification after the heats. The Italian Iacopo Martinese (Baby Driver/Parolin-Iame) is leading the pack thanks to two wins. He is followed by the British driver Roman Kamyab (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), who won two heats, and the Dutch Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart by Kidix/Alonso Kart-Iame), who took one win.
