Bas Kaligis / Wednesday, February 21, 2018 / Categories: International Alex Irlando's Lonato Wintercup finishes at the first corner Not the best weekend for Alex Irlando. The driver from Locorotondo started the event with a 7th place in qualifying ahead of his teammate Anthony Abbasse by only 2 tenths of second. Throughout qualifying heats, Alex scored 25 points because of a third, two second and two ninth position in the five rounds. In the super heat he had a bad start, but he managed to recover positions crossing the line in seventh. The final lasts only a few meters: a contact at the first corner bends his rear axle and his Winter Cup finishes there. “One of my worst weekend so far since last season… - commented Alex Irlando - I struggled a little bit to adapt the chassis and my driving style to the changing climatic conditions, but in the super heat I finally found a good pace. It’s a shame that I couldn’t fight with the other guys in the final, but these are races and we have to accept that! Looking forward to defend my leadership in the WSK Super Master Series here in Lonatoin two weeks time!” Previous Article Suleiman Zanfari has new ambitions for 2018 Next Article The 23rd Winter Cup a weekend full of ups and downs for Leonardo Marseglia Print 7269 Rate this article: No rating Tags: Lonato WintercupAlex Irlando Comments Please login or register to post comments.
