Bas Kaligis / Thursday, August 23, 2018 / Categories: DKM Alex Irlando enters the Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft Summer break is over for the KZ2 World Champion Alex Irlando who will participate to the last round of the Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft in Genk, Belgium, this weekend. After the injury occurred at Essay, France, during the last round of the CIK-FIA OK European Championship, Alex spent the last three weeks training hard to fully recover his shape and to overcome the back pain. Sodikart’s ace will return on the 1,360 meter-long track where he arrived second last year on occasion of the first race of the CIK-FIA KZ2 European Championship. The main difference between the DKM and the CIK-FIA World Championship are tyres: the German championship runs on Vega tyres whilst the biggest competition for shifter karts runs on Le Cont tyres. “I’m still not at full strength, but I’m fit enough to race. This weekend is really important to test new solutions before the CIK-FIA KZ World Championship and I couldn’t skip it. Tyres will be different, but I’ll have the opportunity to test my back and our technical package.” Here is the program of the weekend.
