Alex Irlando concludes an intense weekend in Siena

Locorotondo’s Alex Irlando raced the ACI Karting Italian Championship in Siena to prepare the FIA Karting KZ European Champhionship in Sarno.

Alex Irlando concluded another positive weekend in view of the final round of the European Championship. The BirelART factory driver tried a lot of different solutions every track session, putting aside a lot of useful information.

The racing weekend didn’t start so bad: Alex took 3rd in qualifying, only 0.039” slower than the poleman. In the first heat Alex posted the fastest lap and finished second, while in the second one a puncture forced him to settle for third.

Despite the fastest lap, Alex missed the podium in Race 1 crossing the finish line in 4th. In Race 2 he finished 6th.

"I personally think that the weekend has been a very positive one! It gave us a lot of information about the chassis and we’re finally ready to race the last round of the FIA Karting European Championship this weekend. We decided to sacrifice a good result in Siena to test different set-ups for the next round. Especially in the two main races we could have been faster, but the main goal was testing and we achieved it. Now I’m fully focused on the next round in Sarno.”

Here are the results of the weekend.
