Alessandro Giusti leads the pack in the Second Collective Test at Zandvoort
Alessandro Giusti thrilled the Zandvoort crowd by setting the fastest time in the second Collective Test. The Williams Academy driver posted a top time of 1’31″110, placing the ART Grand Prix team’s car at the forefront in the final moments of the session.
Close behind the Frenchman was Portuguese driver Ivan Domingues, driving the leading car for Van Amersfoort Racing. This weekend, the local fans will support him, as this is the home round for the Dutch team. Championship leader Rafael Camara secured the third-fastest time, just 54 thousandths of a second behind the leader, driving for Prema Racing.
Brando Badoer clocked the fourth-fastest time, having led the session for most of the duration in another VAR team car. James Wharton (Prema Racing) again performed well, recording the fifth-fastest time ahead of Tuukka Taponen (R-ace GP) and the new addition to the KIC Motorsport team, John Bennet, who finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Brazilian Pedro Clerot showed good pace this afternoon, securing the eighth-fastest time and being the second-fastest rookie after his teammate Domingues. Right behind him, the third Van Amersfoort Racing team car covered positions nine to twelve, with other rookies such as Enzo Peugeot (Sainteloc Racing), Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix), and Noah Strømsted (RPM).
The international series will be back in action tomorrow morning at 10:25 AM for the first qualifying session, which, as usual, will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel.
