A world-class event in Adria for the tenth edition of the WSK Final Cup

The WSK Final Cup gets on stage this weekend at the Adria Karting Raceway. The season’s closing event counts 275 drivers on track from 45 different countries, which is a new record for this race that can celebrate its 10th edition in the best possible way.

Among the 275 participants, around sixty are the new names at their debut in a WSK event especially in MINI that counts 126 very young drivers, most of which come from abroad. In total, 34 nations are represented in MINI, with drivers coming not only from Europe but also Australia, Canada, Japan, United States and Angola. The presence in OKJ is also quite important with 72 drivers, OK follows with 40 and the shifter category KZ2 with 37.

The opening day in Adria started with qualifying practice followed by the first 19 qualifying heats. 

MINI. In the four qualifying sessions of MINI, the fastest time was posted in the second session by the recent winner of the WSK Open Cup from Austria Niklas Schaufler (Emme Racing Team/EKS-TM Racing-Vega) in 54.213s. The fastest of the first session was the Russian Vladimir Ivannikov (Formula K Serafini/IPK-TM Racing) in 54.432s, while the quickest of the fourth session was Czech Republic’s Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) in 54.473s and that of session 3 was the Italian Filippo Sala (Team Driver/KR-Iame) in 54.682s.

OKJ. Two sessions have been run in OKJ. The fastest time was posted by the Russian Kirill Dzitiev (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) in the first session when he completed his best loop after 48.920s. His fellow-countryman Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin Motorsport/Patolin-TM Racing) went quickest in the other session in 49.030s.

OK. The best time of OK was posted by the Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov (DPK Racing/KR-Iame-LeCont) in 47.370s in the first of the two sessions. The other session was topped by the British driver Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport/KR-Iame) with a best lap completed after 47.643s.

KZ2. The Italian Francesco Celenta (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing-Vega) posted the fastest time in session 1. His 47.430s was nearly 0.2s faster than the Dutch Stan Pex’s time (SP Motorsport/KR-TM Racing) in session-2 (47.611s).

The best results of the qualifying heats that started on Friday and will end on Saturday are reported below. The final stages will then follow on Sunday with the much awaited Prefinals and Finals in Live Streaming.
