Alex Irlando concludes 19th a tough weekend in Le Mans that makes him slip to P16 in the general standing. Not the weekend he was expecting for: the last time Alex Irlando raced on the French track he won the CIK-FIA Endurance Championship, whilst this time he had to settle for 19th after an impressive comeback in the final.

In the wake of his podium finish at the Swedish Grand Prix at Kristianstad, Luigi Coluccio again raised the colours of the Birel ART brand in the Final of the European OK Championship. On the prestigious international circuit of Le Mans, the young Italian was in the fight to integrate once again the coveted top three, when a cruel accident put an end to his performance a few tens of metres from the finish. Coluccio and Birel ART will most definitely be planning to take revenge at the World Championship in September.

It was not until the last Final of the season that the FIA Karting European Champions - OK & Junior 2019 were decided. Strategy was at the heart of the Le Mans Competition where the battles were numerous and spectacular. The 2018 OK World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto won his first European title, while the youngster Marcus Amand was crowned Junior European Champion to close a particularly tough weekend.

Next to the legendary 24 Hours Circuit and not far from the Bugatti Circuit, the Le Mans Karting International Circuit is bathed in a unique sporting atmosphere. The 1384 metres of the new circuit opened in 2013 recall the many World Karting Championships that took place on the old Alain Prost circuit in the 1970s to the 1990s. In this temple of motorsport, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest has built state-of-the-art facilities surrounding a fast track, conducive to slipstreaming and tight clashes up until the last lap.
