In Barcelona, during the first of the 3 races in the penultimate round of the Italian F.4 Championship, Freddie Slater from Prema Racing claimed his twelfth win of the season, coming within a hair’s breadth of securing the title. With US Racing’s Akshay Bohra stalling on pole at the start, the only driver to keep the fight alive until Sunday was Hiyu Yamakoshi from Van Amersfoort Racing.

Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell enjoyed his best day of the season, as he claimed pole position on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit with a record-breaking lap time and then a commanding victory. As he converted pole into a dominant win, drama in the title race meant that John Bennett and Tymek Kucharczyk gained ground on Louis Sharp, to ensure the fight goes all the way to the final day. 

GB4: Burgoyne blasts from third to victory to close GB4 Championship gap in Brands Hatch opener

KMR Sport’s Harry Burgoyne closed the gap in the GB4 Championship title battle, as he went from third on the grid to victory in the first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch. Championship leader Linus Granfors started from pole after securing another double in qualifying but was demoted to fourth in the race before recovering to complete the podium.

James Wharton’s weekend in Barcelona started on the right foot, as the Australian driver claimed his third win of the season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine after securing his fourth pole position of the year. Wharton’s win in Race 1 not only earned him a spot on the top step of the podium but also moved him ahead of Brando Badoer (Van Amersfoort Racing) in the overall championship standings, where he now holds third place.
