Barnard and Ugochukwu take two big wins in Sarno

In line with the previous phases, the Finals of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior were hotly contested in Sarno, but the favourites won indisputably after some spectacular races. After a faultless race from start to finish, Britain's Taylor Barnard won in the OK class, while Ugo Ugochukwu of the United States won in the Junior class.

The International Karting circus will be in Italy again this weekend as OK and OK Junior are all set to run their 2nd round of the FIA European Championship in Sarno. The program of the weekend in Sarno will follow the usual format of FIA meetings with qualifying practice on Friday, heats on Saturday and Sunday morning and the two Finals on Sunday afternoon.

Twenty Qualifying Heats, eight in OK and twelve in Junior, were on the programme on Saturday 22nd August on the Sarno circuit for the second Competition of the FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior. The intensity of the Heats, as well as the nervousness of some Drivers, shaped the provisional hierarchy. Barnard continued his dominance in OK, while Ugochukwu had a clear round in Junior.

After five long months of waiting, the drivers of the IAME Series Benelux, this weekend in Genk, can finally start their karting season. The context will be a bit different than we are used to, with the races taking place behind closed doors, but the field of participants still remains very attractive. More than 180 participants will compete at Karting Genk in Limburg during this first round of the championship. Time for a spectacle!
