The Champions of the Future series held at Portimao was the perfect time to hold a final rehearsal in optimal conditions before the FIA Karting World Championship in the OK and OK-Junior categories. This was on the minds of all the drivers, who gathered a lot of information in preparation for the biggest event of the season. In terms of results, Polish driver Timoteusz Kucharczyk proved to be the top representative of the official Birel ART Racing team.

After stops in Belgium and Germany, the race in Italy opened the decisive stage of the three-round series as the fourth and last round in Genk was cancelled.

This last weekend of October, the international karting community has shifted its focus towards one much-awaited event: the final round of Champions of the Future at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao! The best teams and drivers competing in OK and Junior classes are expected in Portugal to give the new series by RGMMC the epic Final it deserves!  

 

Caio Collet trims his deficit at Imola

Thanks to an excellent start from third place on the grid, Renault Sport Academy driver Caio Collet (R-ace GP) wins in front of motor racing’s elite at Imola. The Brazilian driver was followed by rookie Alex Quinn (Arden Motorsport) and pole winner Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech Racing) to close the gap to eight points from the Formula Renault Eurocup leader, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix), who was fifth today.
