The first Event of the 2021 FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior offered a thrilling spectacle from start to finish at the Horensbergdam circuit in Belgium. The intermittent rain of the previous day was replaced by good weather for the Final stages, which rewarded Freddie Slater (GBR) in Junior and Rafael Camara (BRA) in OK.

Saturday 15th May was a day filled with the majority of the Qualifying Heats of the 2021 FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior, and was marked by very changeable weather conditions. The circuit of Genk (BEL) was indeed the plaything of an unusually capricious weather situation and the forecast became very random. However Lindblad in OK and Eyckmans in OK-Junior were convincingly prominent.

On Friday 14 May, 174 drivers from 42 countries took part in the Qualifying Practice for the first of the four 2021 FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior - events at the Genk circuit (BEL). The changing weather situation played a role in the overall standings, although the track remained dry apart from a short shower in the second timed OK session. Singapore's Askay Bohra took the Junior pole position and the American Ugo Ugochukwu took the top class.
