Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine last race of round 1 at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola goes to Kas Haverkort, Dutchman of Van Amersfoort Racing. This is Haverkort third win in the series cosigned by Alpine and ACI Sport, the first of the year came as soon as round 1, and, added to yesterday’s P5, constitutes a good haul for the driver’s standings.

The highest German kart series DKM is this weekend in the modern Arena E in Mülsen. There is again a lot of action with an attractive program for the participants from the various classes. The German Kart Championship is again part of the international FIA karting calendar this season and consists of five race weekends. The championship consists of the four categories DKM (OK), DJKM (OK Junior), DSKM (KZ2), and DSKC (KZ2), in which the participants all also score points for the International Karting Ranking (IKR).

This weekend the 2023 IAME Euro Series Round 2 will take place in Mariembourg, Belgium. All three categories continue with great entry numbers and full grids. Karting des Fagnes is a tricky challenge full of technical corners and twisty apexes, that make setup very difficult to perfect. It’s the ultimate place for the season finale as excitement is guaranteed, so nothing can be taken for granted.

Martinius Stenshorne, R-ace GP, writes a chapter in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine history. For the first a rookie driver started in pole position the first race of the year and subsequently came the first win of a Norwegian driver ever. Stenshorne inherited the pole today after a penalization to Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), and his best lap, initially only 3 thousandth of a second behind, became the best of the pole.

After the post-session examinations carried on by the Stewards following Race Director’s reports, Group A qualifying results change. Rafael Camara (Prema Racing) had his best lap deleted for failing to slow down when a yellow flag was displayed, while Lorenzo Fluxà (Prema Racing) left the track at turn 2. For this very same reason also Alessandro Giusti (G4 Racing) suffered the same penalty but kept the fifth placement.
