Williams Racing confirms former karting champion Logan Sargeant to drive in end of season Abu Dhabi F1-test

Williams Racing is pleased to confirm that the team’s Academy Driver, Logan Sargeant, will drive in the post-season test at the Yas Marina Circuit on 14th December. The 20-year-old American, who was announced as the newest member of the Williams Driver Academy back in October, will be getting his first taste of F1 machinery when he gets behind the wheel of the FW43B in Abu Dhabi.

Charouz Racing System will enter a renewed driver line-up at the next FIA Formula 3 round this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. The Czech squad will field in the fifth event of the season two new drivers at the wheel of its Dallara-Mecachrome cars, and is delighted to announce that Zdenek Chovanec and Hunter Yeany are joining Logan Sargeant, who has scored 35 points so far and is 13th in the drivers’ standings.

Italian racing squad Iron Lynx announced this week that former karting star Logan Sargeant would join the team to compete in this weekend’s Michelin Le Mans Cup, to be held at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. For Sargeant, who finished third in last year’s hotly-contested FIA Formula 3 Championship, the move this weekend represents a new step in his career – racing a GT car for the first time. 
 

Former karting stars and Ferrari Academy drivers in the frist weekend of the year at the Red Bull Ring

A tight and spectacular sprint race handed PREMA Racing a double points finish at Red Bull Ring as the FIA Formula 2 Championship rounded out its first weekend of the year. After cruising to his first series podium in race 1, Robert Shwartzman took fourth place making the most of the situation on the Austrian circuit. Once again, having trains of cars on DRS made attacking really difficult, and the lengthy safety-car situations added up to that. The 20-year-old Russian exits the weekend second in championship points.
