The Brazilian driver turns 39 today. The Sao Paulo born started his karting career in 1990 at the age of 9. Soon it become clear he was made for Formule One. Between 2002 and 2017 he spent 15 seasons in Formule One for the likes of Sauber, Ferrari and Williams. After 8 years in karting, in 1998 Massa decided to switch to singleseaters in Formula Chevrolet. In 2000 he won the Italian Formule Renault 2L and the Formule Renault 2L Eurocup. One year later he became Formula 3000 champion. In Formule One Massa was a Ferrari driver for 8 years. The Brazilian driver is a 11 time Grand Prix winner and made it to the podium 41 times. In 2006 and 2008 he ended the Formula One Championship in respectively third and second place. In 2008 Massa was very close to become Formula One champion as he came only one point short to Lewis Hamilton. After 4 years at Williams he made the switch to Formula E in 2018. Massa is also CIK FIA karting president.
