2018 SWS World Final: Heading for Italy

The 8th edition of the SWS World Final confirms Sodikart's desire to give this flagship leisure karting event an even stronger international base. Organised since 2011 in France, the annual meeting of the best drivers of the Sodi World Series will take place this year in Italy, on a large racing circuit near Venice to combine sport and leisure in a new approach.

Launched in 2009 by Sodikart, the world leader in karting, the SWS concept has continued to develop on every continent. The unanimously recognised quality of the Sodi Rental karts, always at the forefront of innovation, as well as the exemplary organisation common to all SWS-certified circuits, accelerated the rise of this karting phenomenon. Since the beginning of the SWS adventure, 50000 drivers have experienced the formula, the 2017 season having broken all records with more than 4500 races validated worldwide.

A true competition circuit that has hosted the prestigious WSK Series, Lignano will be the setting for the 2018 SWS World Final. Located in northern Italy, not far from Venice and even closer to the sea, the site has all the necessary qualities for the success of this great meeting. Whether on the track with a selective layout and top class infrastructure, or in the area with multiple visitor attractions very close by, the finalists and their companions will be able to enjoy their stay.

The 2018 SWS World Final will bring together around 280 drivers from 84 circuits and 35 different countries. Most of the champions of the past season will compete over three days filled with intense races in the three categories: Junior (40 drivers), Sprint (80 drivers) and of course Endurance with the traditional 12 hour night race where 40 teams will start after the traditional fireworks! This year the promoter 3MK Events again offers exceptional prizes opening a bridge between leisure and competition karting.

Junior Cup
Just like last year, the Junior Cup will be divided into two groups according to weight, thus ensuring more equality between the drivers and offering two titles for the category. The winners will win a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Sodi. They will be invited to the headquarters of the Sodikart group, the world leader in the karting industry. After visiting the world's largest kart factory and its superb showroom, the drivers will take part in a VIP driving session overseen by the official Sodi team and an official Sodi factory driver. A perfect opportunity to test their racing skills on competition equipment and benefit from the advice of the pros!

Sprint Cup
The fight will be intense among the 80 drivers committed to the conquest of the Sprint Cup and the decisive race is worth seeing! The winner will be invited to take part in the 2018 Rotax French Cup at Laval under the supervision of an official Sodi team with all the equipment provided. It will be a unique opportunity to compete against the best Rotax drivers from France on a prestigious track that has already hosted several World Karting Championships. This race is a direct qualifier for the Rotax World Final which will take place in Brazil in November 2018.

Endurance Cup
As tradition dictates, Sodikart will invite the winning team of the 2018 SWS World Final to compete in the world's most popular karting endurance race: the Le Mans 24-hour karting race. The team will be assisted by an official Sodi team for this legendary race, which every kart driver dreams of competing in at least once in his life! The best SWS team will be able to compete in the GP2 Rotax engine class with the best private and factory teams involved in this unique event.

Sodikart has manufactured 100 karts specifically for this SWS World Final that have been calibrated by the technical staff of the Sodikart factory and a prestigious specialist, the official Sodi driver Alex Irlando, winner of the 2017 World KZ2. The Junior Cup will be raced on the LR5 200cc, the famous RX250 will be used by the competitors in the Sprint Cup, while the teams in the Endurance Cup will take the wheel of 390cc SR4.

After the races, Sodikart invites all drivers to the famous closing ceremony, which will take place in Venice in a superb location, for an unforgettable evening just a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco!
