Last weekend August 5–7th, Jessica Bäckman claimed two podiums in the fourth round of the ADAC TCR Germany at the legendary Nürburgring track in Germany. 

Some necessary changes and improvements to the 2021 calendar of the Formula Regional by Alpine have been made, while the organization of the new Championship is proceeding fast in the final steps towards what is definitely going to be an extraordinary season, thanks to the joint efforts of ACI Sport and Alpine.

ADAC Formula 4 goes into its seventh year in 2021. There will once again be a total of 21 races contested over seven events timed to coincide with the ADAC GT Masters weekends. On the technical side, the junior series has opted for continuity, with Formula 1 supplier Pirelli retained as exclusive tyre partner. ADAC Formula 4 will continue to offer talented youngsters from Germany and abroad a competitive platform for entering the world of formula racing in the coming year. The curtain-raiser to the seventh season of the series will get underway on the weekend of 14th - 16th May 2021 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
 

Nürburgring: Championship leader Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) from Great Britain and Russia's Vladislav Lomko (15, US Racing) were the winners of Saturday's two ADAC Formula 4 races thanks to their mastery of the autumn-like conditions at the Nürburgring.

Jak Crawford (USA, 15, Van Amersfoort Racing) defied the notorious Eifel weather to chalk up his first ADAC Formula 4 victory and get himself back in the running for the title.

No time to relax for the stars of tomorrow, as they will be facing the next big challenge in the ADAC Formula 4 just four days after the round at the Hockenheimring. For the first time ever, trainees from the ADAC High-Speed Academy will be lining up within the context of the ADAC TOTAL 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and take part in the first practice sessions and qualifying early on Thursday. Races 10, 11 and 12 will then follow on Friday and Saturday, and fans at the track will be allowed to spectate. SPORT1 and SPORT1+ will broadcast the races on TV. Joshua Dürksen secured a maiden ADAC Formula 4 victory in an exciting contest. He won Race 3 at the Nürburgring on Sunday morning in an authoritative manner and staged an impressive comeback after a mediocre showing in Race 2.

Nürburgring: Saturday brought a debut victory for Gabriele Mini, plus further masterful performances from Jonny Edgar and Elias Seppänen as they continue to rack up the points.

While we will have to wait until October before the Nürburgring hosts Formula 1, the famous circuit in the Eifel will be imbued with a touch of the premier class this weekend when Sebastian Montoya (15, Colombia, Prema Powerteam), the son of ex-Formula 1 driver and two-time Indy 500 champion Juan Pablo Montoya.

Many professional racing drivers who are normally racing the Mercedes-AMG GT3 all over the world are currently discovering the world of simulation racing (sim racing). In order to find every tenth of a second at the virtual race tracks, they are investing in training, equipment and set-up. Being the genuine racers that they are, they are also aiming at top results in this new form of competition, and quite successfully so, as Raffaele Marciello proves. In the debut of the SRO E-Sport GT Series at the end of April, the Italian, who debuted in karting in 2005 and raced in various European championships, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KF2 category by 2010, scored his maiden podium finish as he was classified third with his Mercedes-AMG GT3. In the process, the 2019 Macau champion is using high-tech equipment with top quality competition seat, steering wheel and pedals as well as a gaming PC with three monitors for a perfect view.
