The leading drivers in this year’s GB3 and GB4 Championships will receive a tour of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula One team factory this summer, thanks to the continued generosity of Pole Position Cup award founder John Cavill. Cavill placed a winning bid for the experience at the Autosport Awards ceremony in London, and elected to offer the two places to drivers competing in GB3 and GB4. The driver leading their respective championship after the Donington Park rounds on 28/29 May will receive an invite to visit the state-of-the-art Milton Keynes Technology Campus at the end of June. The team, led by Christian Horner, has created some of F1’s most potent machines since taking over the Jaguar entry in 2005, and enjoyed a four-year spell of domination with Sebastian Vettel from 2010-2013, and took last year’s drivers’ title with Max Verstappen. In total, Red Bull has claimed four Constructors’ titles and five Drivers’ championships, plus 76 race victories and 207 podium finishes. The tour for the two drivers will begin with a chance to soak up some history in the stunning MK-7 events space, which features a spectacular line-up of Red Bull’s most famous cars. That precedes a guided factory tour, offering a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes and witness how some of F1’s best cars have gone from legendary designer, Adrian Newey's drawing board, to world championship glory. The drivers will visit the Model Shop, where the latest developments are created in 60% scale ready for secretive testing in the Wind Tunnel. Guests will then move on to the Manufacturing Workshops where all parts of the cars are fabricated from scratch, and the Assembly Areas where the quest for race victories really starts to come together. The final stop is a panoramic view of the Race Bays, where Oracle Red Bull Racing’s team of mechanics practice the all-important pit stops and build the RB18. The Red Bull tour further adds to the class-leading prize packages for the GB3 and GB4 Championships. In addition, the GB3 champion will receive an FIA Formula 3 test at the end of the season, while the GB4 champion earns £50,000 towards their next single-seater programme in 2023. Both categories also offer cash prizes for pole positions. MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: “To go behind the scenes of one of F1’s most successful teams will be an extremely valuable and rare opportunity for our leading GB3 and GB4 drivers. Both drivers will depart the facility with a deeper understanding of how a championship-winning F1 team works, and the levels of dedication needed in their own career to reach the pinnacle of the sport. This visit will be an inspirational moment for any young driver, and I’d like to extend our gratitude to long time MSV championship supporter John Cavill, who has put this superb opportunity together.”
