Formula 4 race winner Oliver Goethe will make his Formula 3 debut this season at the wheel of an MP Motorsport-run Tatuus F3 car. Oliver embarked on his first full single-seater season in 2020, racing in the Spanish F4 championship with the Dutch team, claiming six podium finishes and his maiden victory. After a highly successful learning year, the ROFGO supported driver is stepping up the single-seater ladder, entering Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), the newly merged series and successor of Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula Regional European Championship. “I am extremely happy to be stepping up a category continuing my single-seater career with MP Motorsport.” - said the Venture Engineering supported driver. “My management group and I believe there was no reason to change teams after the very positive season in Spanish F4 and I really enjoy the atmosphere and professionalism at MP. It will be a steep learning curve to get to grips with the new car and learn all the new tracks, but I am more than ready for the challenge! “ The predecessor of the highly competitive championship has been a breeding ground of the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen, and Lando Norris. It offers a great platform for young drivers to prove their skills on the world stage. The FRECA calendar consists of ten rounds – visiting some of the greatest tracks in Europe and joining the support bill at two Formula 1 events; including the ‘Jewel in the Crown’, the Monaco GP, which will be the closest the Monaco-based driver has ever got to a home race. “I’m very excited to compete in FRECA and can’t wait to race on some famous international tracks such as Monaco. It will be a special sensation to race on the same streets I take every day on the way to school.“ said the 16-year-old who is currently studying for his GCSEs at the International School of Monaco. The Gulf Oil supported youngster will have fellow Bullet Athlete Franco Colapinto as one of his teammates. The Argentine raced last year in the Formula Renault Eurocup, winning two races and finishing third in the championship. ‘’It’ll be great to have Franco as a teammate,” – said Oliver. “He’s been helping me a lot last year and I’m sure I can benefit a lot from his experience at this level.” The FRECA season is scheduled to start on April 24-25 at Spa-Francorchamps.
