Belén García will compete in selected rounds of the 2021 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (#FRECA) with G4 Racing. García will contest the W Series full-time this year, following the brilliant results she achieved in the previous seasons. In 2019, she won the Formula 4 Spanish Championship Female Trophy and became the first woman to win an FIA F4 race. The Spaniard will line-up for a part-time program with G4 Racing, starting from the Collective Tests on her home venue, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and at Circuit Paul Ricard. She will then enter the two opening rounds of the series, including round 2, taking place at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya alongside the Formula 1 Spanish GP. As things stand at the moment, she won’t be able to complete the season due to her clashing commitments in the W Series. Belén García (Driver): “It is a pleasure to announce that I will join G4 Racing for the first rounds of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. I am confident that this will be the best preparation for the W Series, and I will make the most of it”. Adrian Muñoz (Sporting and Technical Manager): “I am delighted to confirm Belén García as a driver for our new Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine team. Unfortunately, due to her full-time commitment to W Series, she will be with us only on a part-time basis. I have known Belén since she started with single-seaters in Formula 4. I am convinced that she will show the same talent and professionalism and adapt quickly to the car and team”.
