DRZ Benelli will field two cars in the upcoming Italian Formula 4 Championship. The team, led by Stefano Da Riz and Francesco Benelli, will pair the already-confirmed Francesco Simonazzi with young rookie racer Biagio Ruvolo. Born on January 30th, 2003 in Sant’Agata Militello (Messina), Ruvolo will be at his first single-seater experience after racing karts from the age of 5. Ruvolo entered some tests with DRZ Benelli and will continue his testing program before making his first start of the season in mid-May in the Monza opener.
Biagio Ruvolo
"I'm very excited and can't wait to start this new adventure. I thank DRZ Benelli and all the people who passionately followed and supported me for making this dream come true and believing in me. I started competing in karts when I was just 5 years old and from that moment I took part in many local and national series, up to competing internationally in the European and World championships".
Francesco Benelli – Team Manager
“We go back to speaking Italian after a few years with Finnish, Russian and non-European drivers. It is a good thing for us and we are happy to be able to support Ruvolo in his debut. He has a lot of passion and is seriously working to prepare for the season. With Biagio and Francesco Simonazzi, we have two young and promising drivers and we hope to collect great dividends."
