Van Amersfoort Racing announces the renewed partnership with Cenyu Han. The Chinese native rejoins the Dutch squad of Frits van Amersfoort for a second year of F4 racing, taking on the Italian F4 Series, complemented by selected rounds of the German F4 Championship.
Cenyu Han, nicknamed McQueen, made his F4 debut appearance in 2020. It was a year dedicated towards learning and preparing for his second season in Formula 4. Before making the leap to single seaters, the Nanjing (China) born McQueen competed at a respectable level in the international karting scene. In his last year, Cenyu competed under the flag of the Rosberg Racing Academy, a karting talent program established by former F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg.

Last year McQueen signed up for what was intended to be a learning year. At that time, he was an eager young driver with great ambition. During the course of the season, his dedication levels rose even stronger and we saw him transforming into a much more mature driver over a very short period of time. His absorption skills are high, which makes him a pleasure to work with for our crew. Having McQueen stay with us allows both himself and the team to keep up the momentum that was created last year. Needless to say, everybody is truly excited to get going with the season!”
16-year-old McQueen, who lives in Milan, is ready to continue his journey in single seater racing. His main point of focus will be the Italian F4 series, which will kick-off at the Le Castellet circuit Paul Ricard. In order to optimize track time, Han will add selected rounds of the ADAC German F4 Championship to his schedule as well.
McQueen is prepared for his next F4 campaign: “It is reassuring to know that I will continue to race with VAR for the upcoming season. My time with the team last year contributed massively to my learning curve and I look very much forward to further improve this season. My confidence level is high, and I am extremely dedicated towards moving closer to the front of the field. Of course, it will be challenging, but with the support of the team I am certain we’ll be making steps forward!”
The 2021 Italian F4 Championship counts 7 race events with 3 races each. The first round, scheduled for mid-May, happens on French soil at the circuit of Paul Ricard. The next three rounds are hosted by Italy; Misano at the beginning of June, followed by Vallelunga two weeks after. Round four takes place at the historicalAutodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola. After this, the team crosses the Austrian border for round 5 at the Red Bull Ring. The penultimate round is scheduled back in Italy, early October at the Mugello circuit. The season finale is hosted by the Monza circuit, affectionately known as the Cathedral of Speed.
The 2021 ADAC German F4 Championship also contains 7 rounds with 3 races each. Start of the season takes place at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. For the second round, the team crosses the border to compete at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The third round takes places early July in the Dutch dunes of Zandvoort, followed by the Nürburgring and Lausitzring for respectively round 4 and 5. The sixth and penultimate round is hosted by the Sachsenring, followed by the season finale that takes place at the end of October at the Hockenheimring.
