Swiss-born Frenchman Alexandre Bardinon has signed with FA Racing to compete in the FIA Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, where the 18-year-old from Saint-Avit-de-Tardes will be gunning for success. Bardinon has been keeping busy this winter by racing in the 2021 FIA Asian Formula 3 Championship, but has his eyes now firmly set on a full season in Formula Regional European. He has taken one of the seats in a three-car team fielded by Fernando Alonso’s FA Racing outfit, joining the previously announced Andrea Rosso and another driver who is yet to be confirmed. “I’m extremely happy to able to join FA Racing for an assault on the FIA Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine”, said Bardinon, “Especially, it’s a pleasure and an honour to be racing in the team fostered by none other than Fernando Alonso, who is one of my all-time heroes in motorsport. I want to do his name proud by collecting as many points as I can. I can’t wait for the season to get going!” “It’s a joy to welcome Alexandre to our team”, says FA Racing’s Paul Anthony, “He has proved himself well at this level in the past two years, and we aim to capitalise on that experience in the forthcoming season. I’m sure we will see him step up to a level that will take many of his opponents by surprise.” Bardinon began his racing career in French GT4 in 2018 before making the switch to single-seaters. In 2019 he debuted in the Formula Regional European Championship before its merger with the Formula Renault Eurocup. He then moved across to the EuroFormula Open series for another points-scoring season, and followed that up by taking part in FIA Asian F3.
