With the 2022 World Karting Association (WKA) season on the horizon, series officials are pleased to confirm the Road Racing Championship dates. Set to commence at the annual WKA Daytona Kartweek in late December, the schedule will see stops at Roebling Road, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and the Pittsburgh International Race Complex.
Dubbed the WKA Road Racing Championship, the new name brings a new structure but the same great competition to some of the fastest karts and most daring competitors in North America.
“As the only organization that has a place for all types of Karting, WKA has always had a goal of providing races and championships to the membership,” expressed Kevin Williams. “With special thanks to our hosts Dart Kart Club, Southern Kart Club, and AKRA, WKA can support that goal with this simple restructured Road Race program. The generosity of those clubs is a perfect example of groups coming together to benefit the karters.”
Williams added, “We have worked with our partner organizations and put together a solid schedule that will see karters have the opportunity to compete at four different circuits and obtain points towards our end of the year championship.”
To obtain points in the Championship, racers must participate in the below events to qualify for points. Classes with only one race per weekend will count their best three finishes of the four scheduled races while classes with final one and final two on each race weekend will count their best six of eight finishes.
