Simply a success! This is how we can resume once again the result of the organizational and sporting activity of the Rok Final 2010.
Everything has been developed with strict perfection and even though on Sunday it was raining the programme schedule, well developed in any of its part, was fully respected resulting in an exciting and exhilarating event, not only for the spectacular show of Rokker drivers on the track.
2010 titles went to Sweden, Italy, Switzerland and South Africa, thanks to the good Rokkers, Hansen (Mini Rok), Zanchi (Junior Rok), Aguiar (Rok) and Orr (Super Rok). No doubts, they have been the kings of this event, drivers able to be considered the best world Rokkers at the end of a long weekend full of competitions, sunny at the beginning and heavy rainy at the end. As we said before it not easy to excel in such a strong contest, made up of 306 drivers coming from 32 Countries and 4 different continents, America, Asia, Europe and South Africa.
Vortex is celebrating the eighth edition of this championship, and, thanks to figures and results, it is proud of it, confirming that Rok championships enchant fans of any age and continent. Competitions, meetings, Rok Parties, relaxing moments and friendship and again technical skills and competitive spirit, these all are the ingredients that the Rox staff mixed together thanks to its Rokkers.
This year’s event, under a competitive profile, has to be divided into two key moments, the first one with the dry track and the last one with a completely wet track. On Friday and Saturday, on the dry circuit, Besler (Mini), Bonetti (Rok), Caponi (Super) and Zanchi (Junior)are the drivers emerging on others. Indeed the very competitions assigning titles had some important turn of events taking the scene.
In the Mini category Besler (Turkey), Russo (Italy) and Haxhiu (Switzerland) were in the challenge. During the Final under the heavy rain, the winner was in a first moment the Italian driver Russo, then disqualified for a collision with the Sweden Jader. The 2010 Champion is therefore the Sweden Hansen, able to recover from the 25th position! On the podium, the first Italian is Alessio Lorandi, third position, after the other Sweden driver, Hall.
Junior category only has one competitor, Matteo Zanchi. The Italian driver is hardly fighting on the dry track and is also perfect with rain tyres, deserving a very good final result. Second with more than 10” is Maciver (South Africa) and third is the lady Gabriela Jilkova from Czech Republic.
Super Rok category loses his favourite driver before the start, Caponi (Italy) at the starting grid because of a problem had to stop clearing the way for the success of Orr. It is the South African who won the title in 2007, in Rok category, imposing hard rhythms to opponents. The young talent Ercoli, is proving how Ferrari made the right choice in selecting him for the Ferrari Academy, gaining a good second position ahead of the other Italian driver, Graziani. Fourth position, fully deserved, is for the champion Vantini.
In the Rok, too, we find an already winning driver, the Swiss Aguiar, first place in Junior category in 2008.
This Swiss driver, with a Portuguese dad, recovers from a initial spin, catching up with Bonetti and Paskevicius, overcome with one perfect manoeuvre. Under the heavy rain Bonetti fully deserves the second position fought against the Lithuanian Paskevicius, third.
The consolation Finals have been exciting and enjoyable and all drivers were fully engaged.
Dell’Orto Cup Competition (Rok category) was won by the Greece Vasilieris, while in the TKart Cup (Mini class) was the Poland Crencisz. Also the Super Rok competition, named Sparco Cup, has been hardly fought and won by the Elvetic Hugli, recovering from the last rows and winning on the Monegasque Da Sacco. In the Bridgestone Cup the Junior Rok Champion was the Danish Kilov.
