After a successful 2009 season J3 Competition will arrive with many new drivers in Las Vegas which will be competing in a total of four different categories including; KF2, TaG Jr., TaG Sr., and TaG Masters.
Two new faces will be immediately noticed in the KF2 category as 2009 Asia-Pacific World Cup champion Felice Tiene will climb aboard his familiar Kosmic Mercury chassis coupled with Vortex RAV power. Working under the J3 Competition Racing Team, Felice will work alongside mechanic Thomas Mardaga to challenge for the prestigious KF 2 crown in Las Vegas. With good knowledge of the event and circuit at the RIO, Brandon Adkins will join Felice as J3 Competition’s second KF 2 pilot challenging for victory. Brandon will be working in accordance with the team utilizing the Kosmic Mercury chassis and Vortex RAV power as well.
In TaG Sr. J3 will enter a total of three drivers including Canadian Matt France who is making his first trip to Las Vegas. Joining France in the charge toward the front will be Californian Kosmic driver Travis Lowe and Brazilian Francesco Ventre. All three drivers will be utilizing Vortex ROK TT engines and the latest 2009 Kosmic Mercury chassis.
Taking the team to the green flag in the TaG Jr. category will be 2009 FWT and CKI champion Tristan DeGrand. After having an impressive win in last year’s HPV Jr. class stripped away in post-tech, DeGrand will be riding an impressive momentum swing at this year’s Super Nationals. Joining DeGrand will be team newcomer and four time 2009 Canadian national champion Cory Cacciavillani. In his first ever trip to the Super Nationals; Cacciavillani will be looking to hit his marks early on alongside teammate DeGrand.
Completing J3 Competition’s participation will be its entries in the TaG Masters category. The team will be anchored by last year’s runner-up - Brian McHattie. McHattie will partner at this year’s event with first time Super National driver Brazilian Leonardo Nienkotter. Both drivers’ will be getting up to pace quickly aboard their Kosmic / Vortex ROK TT packages.
“We have enjoyed a very successful 2009 season thus far, which can be attributed to the hard work and dedication by our entire team. A chance to add to our achievements with success in Las Vegas at the 13th annual SKUSA Super Nationals is more than enough motivation for our team to continue its diligent work.”
